I think I will be switching over to a new account ~reiynaa I'm so tired of Ahrog. I mean, it isn't really me anymore.
Anyway, tomorrow I'll be uploading 2-3 of my watercolor paintings onto that account *hopefully*. I plan on moving my realistic works from this account (wow, I only have 2...) over to the new one as well. I was also looking at my old account (ah, fond memories) and found some old paintings. I would like to make an improvement chart, because even though I haven't done much, I have slowly improved.
I plan on moving to realism, although I probably will still post the occasional cartoon, as I have said before. Expect realism, both traditional and digital, lots of sketches (I've been getting more interested in anatomy), creature drawings (another thing that greatly interests me), etc.

I was wondering if you could give me any tips for Kayla, milady of the animals..
Starting tomorrow, it'll be a week since we've had her, and for some odd reason she is having a hard time learning where to use the potty.
My Mom is using "puppy pads" but I think they're kinda pathetic and not helping much..
She usually knows to go to them if she needs to crap, but as far as tinkling, she usually still does it anywhere... it's almost spontaneous.
I just kind of figured she'd know where to go by now. She was really good at first, but now... She seems to have fallen off the wagon, thanks to my Dad who wants absolutely nothing to do with her, and I can't spend all my time with her..
I'm afraid we're gonna have to get real tough in order to make her to learn. My parents are weird about things though... lol
Any potty training tips or ideas you could shuffle my way?

Well first, don't expect her to be potty trained for a while, at least several months. And a puppy that is her age will have to go potty every couple of hours, and will often go after sleeping, eating, drinking, playing, etc.
If you use puppy pads, try to get a little of her pee from before on a napkin or something and smear it on the new pad. Dogs tend to like to go where they have gone before. Also, if she does pee inside, make sure to use an enzyme cleaner, so the smell doesn't remain. And don't get stuck using the pads. It's easier at first, but you might as well teach her from the start that outside is the place to go potty, not inside on a pad.
Do you crate her? I like crates as they are awesome for teaching a puppy they cannot be around people all the time, to relax, and keep them from peeing on the floor. It would be helpful, if you cannot keep an eye on her constantly and if you dad doesn't like helping with her.

^I like that link, it's helpful.
Just don't assume she will get house trained immediately. And don't rub her face in it either, that doesn't help at all (not saying you would tho) just makes them fear people.

Tada!
We have her in something like a wire crate now for bedtime or when we can't be with her; I'm just worried that some times we leave her in there too much, I want to be sure she gets enough exercise.
My Dad's been taking her outside with him this weekend, so I may start using the leash and taking her out and see what happens. I like that more anyway.
We're eventually going to get it set up to where she can be put on the back porch when we need time to ourselves, and have a little doggie door to where she can go outside to a fenced area to play.
Thanks for the tips

I hate puppy house training...at least she's not a smaller dog, since small dogs (like my little brat) can be really hard to potty train.
